My Husband’s Friend Almost Destroyed My Marriage

My Husband’s Friend Almost Destroyed My Marriage

My husband once had a friend who always dragged him to clubs and introduced women to him.

You might think this friend of his didn’t know me.

He knew me very well.

In fact, whenever he came to our house, he would sit on our couch, eat my food, laugh with my children, and call me “our wife.”

That was the part that hurt me the most.

This man knew my husband was married. He knew we had built a beautiful home together. He knew my husband was a man who loved his family.

But somehow, he became the person who started pulling him away from us.

It all started when my husband wanted to learn a new trade.

We were going through a difficult season financially, and my husband wanted to improve himself. He wanted to learn a skill that would help him provide more for our family.

This friend of his was already doing well in that business, so my husband trusted him.

At first, I was grateful.

I thought, “Thank God my husband has someone willing to guide him.”

I never knew the same person who was supposed to help him grow would slowly begin to change him.

Little by little, things started happening.

The man who used to rush home after work just to see me and our children started finding reasons to stay outside.

The man who barely drank suddenly started coming home smelling of alcohol.

The man who used to speak to me with so much love started becoming angry over the smallest things.

Every conversation became an argument.

Every question became an attack.

I looked at him one evening as he shouted at me, and tears filled my eyes.

This was not the man I married.

The man I knew was gentle.

The man I knew was patient.

The man I knew would never intentionally hurt me.

I started feeling like I was losing my husband to someone else’s influence.

I tried talking to him.

I begged him to remember the home we built.

I reminded him of the children who looked up to him.

But the more I talked, the more his friend convinced him that I was trying to control him.

That was when I stopped fighting with my words and started fighting on my knees.

Every night, I prayed.

I asked God to open my husband’s eyes.

I asked God to separate him from every friendship that was destroying his destiny.

I didn’t want revenge against his friend.

I just wanted my husband back.

Then one night, something happened that changed everything.

His friend invited him out again.

They went to a nightclub, and before the night ended, trouble started.

There was an incident at the club, and both of them were arrested.

When I received the call, my heart sank.

The same man who had been leading my husband into a lifestyle he never wanted was now the reason my husband was in trouble.

I had to go there and bail him out.

The moment my husband walked out and saw me standing there, something changed in his eyes.

For the first time in a long time, he looked ashamed.

My husband, who has never visited the police station, spent a night at the cell all because of the influence of a friend.

For the very first time, my husband looked at me and said, “I am sorry.”

Not the kind of apology people say just to end an argument.

This one came from a broken heart.

He told me he had allowed someone else’s influence to make him forget who he was.

He said he almost destroyed the home he spent years building because he was trying to impress someone who would not suffer the consequences with him.

After that day, my husband ended that friendship completely.

He ran from everything that was pulling him away from his family.

He started rebuilding himself.

He came back home earlier.

He spent more time with our children.

He became the loving man I knew again.

Our marriage wasn’t healed in one day, but slowly, we found our way back to each other.

We talked more.

We prayed together.

We learned to protect our home from anything that threatened our peace.

Today, whenever I look at my husband, I remember that season of our lives.

It taught me that not every person who enters your life is meant to stay there forever.

Some people come with advice, but their influence can destroy what took years to build.

And sometimes, the greatest battle for your home is not fought with anger or bitterness.

It is fought with patience, wisdom, and prayers.

Because a home that God restores becomes stronger than the storm that tried to break it.

The day my husband lost his job, my family told me to leave him before poverty swallowed me too.

The day my classmates thought i had a boyfriend in jss1 because of one stupid mistake
